শৈশব: An Art Exhibition for Street Children

Jhilimili organized an exhibition solely based on the artworks by the street kids of Dhaka, at EMK Center on August 11, 2018. The single day event displayed 25 selected pictures bordered with black frames, along with a short biography of the wonderful children. There was a vibrant red and green Bangladeshi flag drawn by 4 year old Maria hanging from one wall while an unarguably eccentric picture named Pink man drawn by 11 year old Jibon from another. Each child and their picture portrayed something that was very close to our hearts, it portrayed the innocence of our childhood!

The event area was decorated with colorful paper flowers, Jhilimili posters, pictures, instructors’ comments and colorful alphabets in an attempt to depict the minds of each and every kid, whether they are privileged or underprivileged. We also had a display section with the playthings, books, stationary and crayons used as the study materials of Jhilimili kids. There was a board where everyone left their remarks in the form of paper flowers.
